Voici comment vous rendre à votre destination depuis l’aéroport.
IMPORTANT NOTE In many areas of the airport, you will not have internet signal. We recommend taking a screenshot of this article.
Once you get off the plane, you will go through the immigration corridor to have your passport stamped. Then, you will head to the baggage claim area, where you will notice many people offering car rentals, tours, or taxis. It is important to be cautious, as the prices for these services are often very high. Additionally, you may be "offered" a breakfast or an activity to attend a timeshare or vacation club sales presentation. Although they will tell you that this presentation or breakfast lasts only 90 minutes, the reality is that you will lose at least 5 hours of your vacation. We recommend ignoring the vendors in this area unless you are interested in purchasing a timeshare.
After collecting your luggage, continue walking down the corridor. You will find the ADO sales booth there.
The ADO fares are as follows :
- Cancun Airport T4 to Cancun: 140 MXN per person
- Cancun Airport T4 to Playa del Carmen: 250 MXN
- Cancun Airport T4 to Tulum: 420 MXN
You can pay by card, but we always recommend having cash in Mexican pesos or US dollars. Although Cancun accepts dollars, it is important to note that when paying in this currency, the cost will be about 30% higher than the actual price.
After purchasing your bus ticket, follow the signs on the ceiling. You will see two exits: the first one indicates "HOTEL TRANSPORT" and the second one "FAMILY AND FRIENDS ONLY"You need to take the exit indicating "HOTEL TRANSPORT"There, in addition to several buses going to different hotels, you will find the red ADO bus. Before exiting through the door, you will see a large red sign indicating the correct exit for all transportation services: "WARNING, EXIT FOR ALL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES"If you accidentally exit through the door indicating "FAMILY AND FRIENDS ONLY"you can approach a police officer to allow you to return to the bus area. You can say in Spanish, politely and with a smile: « ¿Puedo pasar a la zona de autobuses, por favor? Voy a tomar un ADO. » It is important to be friendly, as Mexicans place great value on a positive and friendly attitude. Try to avoid speaking too much in English, as many Mexicans may not understand you.
If you prefer to buy your ADO ticket in advance to go to the city center, and you don't mind losing it in case of a delay or waiting a few minutes (or even hours) to board the bus, you can purchase it on the official ADO website (www.ado.com.mx). There, you can check the updated schedules and fares for your trip. We recommend making this purchase before your flight, from home, because on many occasions, the airport Wi-Fi does not work.
Note that no bus makes any stops: it goes directly from the airport terminal to the bus station of your choice.
**Summary** Get off the plane → Stamp the passport → Collect luggage → Choose the exit « Bus » Buy a ticket at the ADO booth → Direct bus ride to your destination.
